A merging of memory and the senses.

The artist experiences life and records his place in those experiences. This knowledge is both individual and distinctive. My paintings begin where memory and emotion merge; not perfection, but rather imperfections, limitations and nuances that bring meaning and this is where my creativity is born.

I've come to appreciate that recognizing an object and knowing it are quite different. Trying to capture the essence of one’s connection to a thing, a place or a person allows it to transform into more — something unique to the artist.

This fascination with the natural world inspires my work, as I seek to recapture the beauty of the commonplace and the timeless wonder of nature.

Most of my paintings are acrylic but I often use pen and colored pencil to highlight and define small details. My technique, characterized by active, broad strokes and a sense of play rather than exact replication, allows me to express the individual and distinctive nature of my experiences.

I am drawn to scenes that are defined by interesting shapes, captivating light, and evocative shadows, using them as a means to convey my deep connection to the world around me.
